We
deviated from the itinerary today. We did not like the hotel so once
we decided to change locations we opted to make some progress instead
of returning to Flagstaff. We drove down Route 89A, the scenic route
through Red Rock State Park to Sedona. We enjoyed lunch at Red Rock
BBQ and shopping in Sedona. We went further down 89A to Jerome and
Prescott. In Prescott, we stopped in at a town festival where we had
an unexpected good time. From there we decided to skip Kingman
(Route 66) and the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City tomorrow in
favor of making some mileage today. Tomorrow was going to be a long
drive so hopefully this will allow us to enjoy a much shorter one.
We crossed the California state line, got a late dinner and checked
in a hotel in Blythe, CA.
