ELLE'S JOURNAL: JUNE 7 - 10

We have not forgot about Elle's and Cole's Journal entries. I am behind posting them because they take some time to type up and well, we are on vacation. Here are a few of Elle's:

June 7: This morning we got up, had breakfast and left Arkansas. We took a picture at the welcome to Oklahoma sign and drove to Oklahoma City. We saw the memorial to the Oklahoma City Federal Building that got bombed April 19, 1995. We also saw the new Oklahoma City Federal Building with explosion proof windows and stars that were seats. While Cole was going to the bathroom, me and Mommy got some chalk and wrote our names and drew pictures on these black squares that were in the stone floor. Then Cole and Daddy came out and Daddy wrote Wehner Vacation 2013 and Cole wrote his name and drew a picture. Then we walked around a bit. Then we went to the Capitol. After that we went to a restaurant called Cattlemen's. For dessert we ordered apple pie with ice cream, strawberry shortcake, and lemon pie. Then we went to two stores. In the first one, Mommy and Daddy each bought a shirt. The second one we just looked. Then we started to drive out of Oklahoma. Soon we were in Texas.

June 8: When we were done with breakfast we went to see the replica of Ramone's Paint Shop in the movie Cars. It was actually a gas station! Then we headed to Amarillo and ate an early lunch at Big Texan Steak Ranch. I had steak and mac 'n' cheese. Then we went to spray paint the cars but it was too windy so we took our very muddy feet back to the car and Mommy and Daddy got some of the mud off our feet. Then we headed to New Mexico. Finally we got to our hotel and went to eat at the Elephant Bar and Grill. Then we stopped at Target for a bit and then headed to the hotel.

June 9: Today was Daddy's birthday! For breakfast we went to the Frontier. We had two pancakes and a cinna-bun. Then we walked around the University of New Mexico and drove to the Capitol building. Then we walked around a market and went on Canyon Road (Santa Fe). It had a lot of art on it! Then we headed to the tram way and got on. We went up the mountain. We got off and took some pictures on the edge of the mountain and hiked a little. Then we got back on the tramway. When we got off we went straight to Rudy's for dinner. Before we left Mommy and I needed to go to the bathroom. One of the bathroom doors said Rudys and the other said Trudys. Me and Mommy went in Trudys and it was girls! Then we headed to Old Town and got Daddy a birthday present. A new cup! We also snuck a magnet even though Mommy said no. Shhhhh! Then Daddy saw the Art Museum and took some pictures. Me and Cole were so hot we put our heads under something that sprayed water down into a stream that poured water into a little pool, the pool was dirty. Then we went back to the hotel and swam in the pool. We convinced Mommy to come in, she thought the water was really cold. Even though we said it was so hot our teeth were chattering. Soon we all got out because it was too cold and went upstairs to take hot showers. Then we sat on the bed and watched half of Toy Story 3.

June 10: Today we drove to Colorado. On the way we went through Taos and stopped at this very fancy Subway and got sandwiches for the road. We drove and got into a forest. We got out and took a couple pictures. Then we drove a little bit and took our picture next to the welcome to Colorado sign. We drove to our hotel and it looked really nice! Then we walked around a little bit and then ate dinner at Steamworks Brewing Company. It was yummy! Then we went back to our hotel and watched the rest of Toy Story 3.
