We
drove across most of South Dakota today. We started off by getting
donuts at Jerry's Donuts and Cakes; good stuff. About an hour east
of Rapid City, we stopped at Wall Drug, the 'South of the Border' of
the North. We had more fun here than I had expected. From there we
continued to Pierre to visit the state capitol, tour the town and
grab some lunch. We followed the Missouri River to Chamberlain and
got back on the interstate. The Corn Palace in Mitchell was, well,
corny but a nice break. We arrived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in
time to check-in, get dinner and tour the town. We ate dinner at
Phillips Avenue Diner in downtown. Before going back to the hotel,
we visited Falls Park which we enjoyed quite a bit. The weather was
good all day. Tomorrow we will have another long day as we start to
head south.
